See President George W. Bush's paintings: 'People are surprised'

大統領を引退してから、表舞台に出ることを避けていた前ブッシュ大統領が久々にマスコミに登場してきました。地元テキサスの新聞のインタービューに応じた。
引退後絵を始めた。その絵を見た人から絵の才能を褒められて（ブッシュ氏は最初はそれをジョークと受けたが）刺激をうけた。そして、プロの絵描き（Gail Norfleet, a Dallas artist ）について1年少しまえから本格的にレッスンを受けている。
嘗て、ウインストン・チャーチルも「Painting as a Pastime」という本を書いたほど絵が得意だった。これにも刺激を受けている。

彼のサインは、43（アメリカ第43代大統領）。
そういえば、細川さんも引退後湯河原かどこかでプロ並に陶芸やっているそうだ。このレベルの人になると芸術の才能なども飛び抜けているんだろう。
